Turner's Creed

"Steve Turner is a British journalist who looked at the dawn of this Naturalist Worldview and Secularistic Worldview and talked about 'where are heading now?' He used the philosophy of Friedrich Neitzsche and his own satire and composed the following poem. This poem is half humor and half caution." - Ravi Zacharias

Turner's Creed
We believe in Marxfreudanddarwin.
We believe everything is ok
as long as you don't hurt anyone,
to the best of your definition of hurt,
and to the best of your definition of knowledge.

We believe in sex before, during
and after marriage.
We believe in the therapy of sin.
We believe that adultery is fun.
We believe that taboos are taboo.

We believe that everything's getting better
despite evidence to the contrary.
The evidence must be investigated and
you can prove anything with evidence.

We believe there's something in horoscopes,
UFO's and bent spoons;
Jesus was a good man, just like Buddha,
Mohammed and ourselves.
He was a good moral teacher although we think
some of His good morals were really bad.

We believe that all religions are basically the same,
at least the ones that we read were.
They all believe in love and goodness.
They only differ on matters of
creation, sin, heaven, hell, God, and salvation.

We believe that after death comes The Nothing
because when you ask the dead what happens
they say Nothing.
If death is not the end and the dead have lied,
then it's compulsory heaven for all
excepting perhaps Hitler, Stalin and Genghis Khan.

We believe in Masters and Johnson.
What's selected is average.
What's average is normal.
What's normal is good.

We believe in total disarmament.
We believe there are direct links between
warfare and bloodshed.
Americans should beat their guns into tractors
and the Russians would be sure to follow.

We believe that man is essentially good.
It's only his behavior that lets him down.
This is the fault of society.
Society is the fault of conditions.
Conditions are the fault of society.

We believe that each man must find the truth
that is right for him and
reality will adapt accordingly.
The universe will readjust. History will alter.
We believe that there is no absolute truth
excepting the truth that there is no absolute truth.

We believe in the rejection of creeds and the
 flowering of individual thought.

Steve Turner

PS - If  chance be the father of all flesh, disaster is his rainbow in the sky
and when you hear "state of emergency", "Sniper kills ten", "Youths go looting",
"Bomb blasts school" it's but the sound of man worshiping his maker.

"Nietzsche told us this is exactly what would happen. 'Two things will happen in the 20th century because God had died in the 19th century:
1. A universal madness would break out.
2. The 20th century would be the bloodiest century in history.'
In the 20th century we killed more people than the previous 19 centuries put together." - Ravi Zacharias

Allow Me to Explain....

Hello,

This blog is going to be a little different. Or at least different from the blogs I read. Our culture today has made many assertions that we Christians just accept as fact. We are told if you are Christian you are not rational. That our beliefs are not logical. That science and Christianity are incompatible. Although, both claim to seek the truth. These assertions have permeated our culture thoroughly, to the point even many Christians believe them. But this is not the case. Many Christians, even pastors and teachers, have never heard of Apologetics.

Apologetics is the logical defense of the Christian Faith. In the last ten years, I have learned more about being Christian than in all the years before. I am constantly amazed at statements I hear by Christians and non-Christians alike. The lack of knowledge and the poor logic we accept without question. The intellectual training of Christians today leaves much to be desired. Many of us cannot do as Peter instructed, "Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian Hope, always be ready to explain it." I Peter 3:15 NLT.

This blog is going to be a clearinghouse of apologetic teaching. Christians and non-Christians are welcome to read, comment and ask questions. I only ask that we do so in a respectful manner and refrain from ridicule and personal attacks. Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins have taught that Christians are irrational and therefore they must be ridiculed. This is not so. If you have to resort to ridiculing others instead of showing the error in their thinking, it merely shows the weakness of the so called rational argument.

Christians: we will not ever win someone to Christ through debate. However, by being able to show the logic in our belies perhaps they will be open to learning more. In all things we must show love, patience and understanding to others. Just as Christ shows to us each day in our own imperfections.
